1.0 Precautions

    1. Membranes must not be allowed to dry out. The housings must remain filled with DI or RO water if the system is shut down for any length of time. Membrane dry out is irreversible.
    2. No anti-foam agents of any kind are to be introduced into the Synder Filtration EDUF system.
    3. No silicon-based materials (waterproofing sprays, lubricating fluids or greases, etc.) are to be used in or around the Synder Filtration EDUF system.
Using these materials in the system in any amount will cause complete and irreversible membrane fouling.
    4. Provisions must be made for properly venting the system during shutdown procedures and draining. The vent systems provided with the Synder Filtration EDUF system must be maintained in proper working order to keep the Synder Filtration EDUF membrane replacement policy in force. If pressure on the permeate side of the membrane exceeds the system outlet pressure by more than five (5) PSIG, membrane delamination will occur.
    5. Minimize the time the system is under low flow conditions. These are periods when the bypass valves are open or the circulating pump is not running.
    6. NEVER STOP THE ULTRAFILTER WITH THE PERMEATE VALVES THROTTLED OR CLOSED!
    7. Never start the circulating pump without the circulating pump discharge valve being closed.
    8. Maximum inlet pressure to the membranes must not exceed 65 PSIG.
    9. Maximum allowable temperature to the membranes must not exceed 130°F (54.4°C).
    10. The allowable pH range for the membrane element is pH 1.0 to pH 11.0.
    11. THE SYNDER FILTRATION EDUF MUST BE CLEANED WHEN THE PERMEATE RATE DROPS 20% TO 30% FROM THE START UP PERMEATE RATE. FAILURE TO CLEAN THE ELEMENT(S) AT THIS POINT WILL VOID ANY PERFORMANCE WARRANTY OUTLINED IN THE ORIGINAL PROPOSAL.
THE OPERATING CONDITIONS AS LISTED IN THE ENCLOSED EDUF E-COAT SYSTEM LOG SHEET MUST BE RECORDED DAILY. THESE LOG SHEETS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION WITH COPIES SENT MONTHLY TO SYNDER FILTRATION’S GEORGIA OFFICE:
