Short Term Storage

Immediately following the final CIP flush, the system should be filled with 1% Sodium Metabisulfite (MBS) solution with a pH of 4.0 to 5.0.

Every 7-10 days the following procedure should be performed:

1. Drain MBS solution from the system.
2. Flush system to the drain.
3. Run a caustic wash (pH 10.8-11.0, 120°F-122°F, 15-20 minutes)
4. Flush system to drain.
5. Recharge the system with a fresh batch of MBS solution.
